Acknowledgements.

Whilst the majority of this History was compiled by ‘Spud’ (I.C. Murphy) in the years up to 1980, it was mainly in manuscript form.  Several others have subsequently given of their time to do sterling work, over the last 10 years, in transcribing those manuscripts into print.

In this regard, we are indebted to Rennie Quinn, Dave Suff, Bob Carr, Ned O’Keeffe & Geoff Prodger. Also, to Aidan O’Keeffe for sponsoring and compiling the Witan Old Timers Website.

From reading Chapter 11, it will be seen that this History of the Club is open-ended.   Whilst the LCC and the GLC have gone, their legacy – Witan AFC – lives on, and it will be for others in the future to continually update this document with the exploits of the Club going forward.
